Le Frigo Vert is an anti-capitalist alternative health and community space. Frigo Vert offers services to the community that range from cheap bulk food to free workshops and education. Frigo aims to challenge health food culture by rejecting trends and viewing health more holistically, as well as supporting those who don’t normally have enough money to access certain products or health related services.
Every Thursday they have different programming in their space. This includes fermentation workshops, free massages for trans and queer people, DIY medicinal workshops, and more. Once a month they have a Traditional Chinese Medicine and Yoga Therapy workshop, where people can learn how to apply TCM to their everyday lives. They have bulk medicinal herbs and tinctures, and an on staff herbalist who offers free herbal consultations. They also have in the past partnered with Head and Hands to offer free STI clinics. Along with their low-waste bulk groceries, they offer a seed library and by donation local vegetables during the summer months. See their full list of events in store and on their facebook page.
