Are you an aspiring chef? Do you have creative ideas for infusing local, seasonal, traditional foods onto our plates? Are you passionate about sustainability from farm to fork?

The Concordia Food Coalition has a special opportunity for one young chef to join our conference team. The chef will work with our team to plan a seasonal and culturally inspired menu, develop the eating design for an interactive dinner, lead a community kitchen, and actively serve & engage with participants at the interactive dinner. Please note the menu should be vegan unless special permission is given by the team. We are open to dumpster diving for ingredients should local/seasonal produce not be available.

This temporary position is an honorarium based on 30hrs at 15$ an hour + 50$ bonus at the end. The chef will receive a 500$ honorarium in exchange for their hard work. Kitchen & Cost of ingredients covered by the CFC.

Priority given to BIPOC, trans, femme, queer, & NB chefs.

You *MUST* be available February 1st and February 2nd, no exceptions.

Requirements: Must have experience as a cook, able to work independently and with large groups, able to work under pressure, be motivated and creative in the kitchen, be committed to sustainability and low/zero waste cooking.

Sample Menu: Squash Pate & Deconstructed Pumpkin Pie, Homemade Labneh, Savoury Carrot Compote, Hunted Game Meat
