You asked for it, so here it is: FOOD MEMORIES COMMUNITY KITCHEN!

Please note this workshop is FREE, spaces may be limited.

Join us this academic year for a community kitchen pilot project. Students are encouraged to sign-up alone or with friends, to teach other students and community members, how to prepare a meal they love. The Kitchen is booked for the Fall semester Tuesdays from 6 to 8 in the MSFC (we will be sharing with vendors from the Concordia Farmer`s Market!). Next semester possibility of switching up the dates if there is a need 🙂

THIS SEMESTER!

Oct 3rd — Orientation to the Kitchen & cooking Pumpkin Tarts (for eating and fundraising!)
Oct 17th — CHEF WANTED (is it you?) or Homemade vegan spaghetti sauce & Caesar Salad
Oct 31st — CHEF WANTED (is it you?) or Vegan Sheppard`s Pie, Squash Soup & Fruit Salad / HALLOWWWWEEEEEEEEEEN!!!!!!!!
Nov 14th — CHEF WANTED (is it you?) or My Mimis Famous GLISSANCE
Nov 28th — CHEF WANTED (is it you?) or Food to Help You Study

How it works:

Send me an email: externalconcordiafoodcoalition@gmail.com and let me know if you want to be a chef and what you want to make!

Each CHEF will have a paid for budget of 75$ to buy local, or substantially sourced ingredients (winter is coming). You can either grab the ingredients yourself then provide receipts for reimbursement (can take time, no receipts = no pay back!) OR you can give me the ingredient list and I will get them (no money stress!).

There is no structure in place so far, pies the limit 🙂 Do you have a recipe you`d like to share that reminds you of home? Do you want to learn how to make some staple items? Do you just want to hang out and eat tasty things with new friends? All good roads lead to delicious. You do not need to be free each time, I just want to know what you`d like to cook and when! I will coordinate ingredient pick-ups, kitchen details, and finding hungry folks.

I currently have the MSFC Kitchen booked to cook with vendors for the Concordia Farmer`s Market, bi-weekly on Tuesdays from 6-8, Rue Mackay, MSFC Kitchen, Z-Annex. This kitchen is not wheelchair accessible, next semester I will aim to get us in a kitchen that is.
